If travelling outside the EU for the first time, then you need to keep this in mind and give yourself extra time at the airport.

EU ENTRY/EXIT SYSTEM (EES)

The new rule : The EU's digital border system functions across various participating destinations in Europe and the Schengen area. It eliminates the need for manual passport stamping by utilizing a secure digital log.

The Process : When you first enter the Schengen zone, border officials will scan your passport and collect biometric information, which includes a facial photograph and four fingerprints. This registration remains valid for a period of 3 years.

The Result : Since every traveller is required to undergo biometric registration, the time taken to cross borders may increase.

You can pre-register for the new EU Entry/Exit system (EES) online before your trip. To do this, use the official Travel to Europe mobile app. You can pre-register your details within 72 hours of your journey, which helps speed up your time at border control.

Pre-registration makes the process faster, but it does not replace the in person border checks. For technical reasons, you will still need to have your fingerprints scanned in the presence of a border guard the first time you use the system.

GOOD NEWS FOR CLIENTS WANTING TO TRAVEL TO THE UAE !!

As of 18/06/26, the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) has officially lifted its travel advisory against visiting the Middle East region. This significant change in policy reflects an evolving situation that has seen improvements in security and stability across various countries within the region. Travelers can now consider their plans with greater confidence, as the FCDO has assessed that the risks previously associated with travel to this area have diminished to a level that no longer warrants a blanket warning.

Travelers are, however, still advised to remain vigilant and informed about specific areas within the region, as conditions can vary significantly from one country to another and even within different regions of the same country.

This advisory update is a welcome development for many, as it opens up opportunities for cultural exchange, tourism, and business ventures that had previously been curtailed due to safety concerns. The Middle East, with its rich tapestry of history, vibrant cities, and breath taking landscapes, is poised to welcome a renewed influx of visitors eager to experience all that this fascinating region has to offer.

NEW PASSPORT REGULATIONS

Travelers are now often required to have a passport that is valid for at least six months beyond their planned date of departure. This regulation has been implemented by various countries around the world and serves a critical purpose in ensuring that travelers do not encounter unforeseen complications while abroad. The rationale behind this requirement is to minimize the risk of travelers being denied entry into a foreign country or facing significant difficulties with their visa applications.

In many cases, a passport that is close to its expiration date may raise concerns among immigration officials regarding the traveler's intent and the possibility of them overstaying their visa. This can lead to unnecessary stress and complications during what should be an enjoyable journey.

Consequently, it is advisable for individuals to check the expiration date of their passports well in advance of any international travel plans. This proactive approach not only helps in avoiding potential issues at border control but also provides traveLlers with the peace of mind that they can fully enjoy their trip without the looming worry of passport-related problems. In addition to checking the validity of their passports, travelers should also consider the specific entry requirements of the countries they plan to visit, as these can vary significantly. Some nations may have additional stipulations regarding the validity of travel documents, and being informed about these requirements can save time and prevent last-minute scrambles.

This foresight can be especially beneficial for those who may have spontaneous travel plans or for families who are planning vacations well in advance.

HAPPY TRAVELS EVERYONE !!
